MIA

Apologies in advance for a boring, filler in post.  My hopes are to return again to the blog world on Wednesday with lots of fanciful things.  Things have been, well, hmmm, time crunch like as of late.  Lots of things have been occurring both in the wedding world, job world, and just life in general.  Here's a little down low of events as of late:
  • invitations are in and envelopes are being addressed
  • National Counseling Exam is passed and paper work is being filed for supervision
  • living room has been painted
  • bathroom sink has been fixed (thank you fiance)
  • sister and brother-in-law are visiting (along with the cutest niece and nephew)
  • MAP testing is complete
  • countdown to end of school is in full swing
  • two more showers have been thrown, lovely, pictures to come
  • animal calls have been practiced, in case the rain does not stop
  • graduation this weekend
  • family shower on Friday

I am ready for this wedding to happen!  I leave you with a small glimpse into beautifulness.  My future in laws took Chris and I out to the Schaffitzel's on Saturday to see all of the hanging baskets future father in law planted.  Thirty three of them!!  They will be all over the place at the wedding.
Ours are the lower hanging beauties.

Shake your Groove Thing

If you have ever met my lovely fiance, you know he loves to sing... a lot... like really loud and all the time.  One thing you might not know about him is he likes to dance, too.  He breaks out his best moves while we are driving, dangerous, but always entertaining nonetheless.  So, it has never been a question of whether we would have dancing at our wedding or not.  Not to mention, several of our friends enjoy to get down.  (shall we be seeing the pancake flipping at the wedding? I think we shall)

We have our DJ booked and now the decision rest upon what shall we have him play.  We are looking for suggestion here peeps.  What are your favorite songs to dance to in front of the mirror?  Lets hear those tunes that you blast while taking a shower in the morning!

A Little Pick Me Up

Last night in my stressful state of packing and cleaning this caught my eye

And I had to stop and smile.  Life is a little crazy right now.  Ten weeks until wedding, graduation in three weeks, my national exam in two, not to mention still traveling to see the fiance and attempting to get the house somewhat in order so we can paint and have it looking nice for our guests in June. (my college chicas are staying with me during the wedding festivities)  I should show a picture of my office, ridunculous.

But my refrigerator made me smile.  A goofy photo booth picture of Chris and I back on my 26th birthday, I do enjoy him oh so much.  Our save the date cards (I need to show those some time) which is a constant reminder that the day is soon coming where I get to see him daily.  Three special wedding shower invitations; church, Zongkers, and family.  I have such an amazing support system and so many sweet people in my life.  A Bible verse to keep me grounded and a cute picture made by Jack.

My sanity is returning, slow but sure.  Everything always gets done, learning to enjoy the process rather than freak out about it.

Our First Big Purchase

Since Chris and I found out we were staying in Springfield at my current house, the discussion of bedroom furniture quickly came into play.  My bedroom is currently finished.  We could use it as our room, but my pink lamp, pink mirror, and bright blue walls are not very masculine.  Plus Chris doesn't love the fact that you have to jump into my bed.  So, the hunt was on to transform what is now my extra room into our room.

Needless to say, our tastes are pretty different.  I like vintage, bright, airy pieces...

He likes leather headboards, dark wood, and brown... lots and lots of brown (ok so I am taking a little liberty in saying that, he does like color, but I think you get what I mean).  So, I went into the bedroom furniture adventure with two things in mind:
  • I have decorated my entire house how I have wanted it for the past three years and I want him to have a big say in this.  Something that is ours.
  • We both loved a bed display at Restoration Hardware that was very warm and lovely (so I knew I wasn't going to be fighting off bear skin rugs, hunter green, or whatever).
When we started looking, I was pleasantly surprised that we easily fell onto the same page.  And low and behold we came up with something that we BOTH love.

Not the best picture, but I will take more when it is in its home.

Now, in a dream world I would paint my walls before the bedroom set is delievered in 3-4 weeks.  However, Chris and I just gave the walls a fresh over Christmas break, so he isn't game with that (they are a tan color and I would rather them be a white or even a really light blue or maybe even a green since we are looking at a tan bedding set).   Plus, I have a major exam on the 21st of this month so my efforts need to be drawn towards studying, not painting.  But, we shall see if I get a wild hair over the next few weeks, I'll let you know.
