Family Time

This past weekend I jumped in the car with my mom, dad and grandparents to head to Kentucky (yes, an 8 hour car ride with five people, we made it).  My aunt and uncle have lived in Oklahoma my entire life and ventured to Kentucky this past year due to my uncle being called to a new church.  The nice thing about their move is that now they are about 4 hours away from my sister, so she and the kiddos were able to join us.

We played with the kids, did a little shopping, and just enjoyed being together.  This post is a little picture heavy, but these two are easy to take lots of pictures of.

Kharis was able to do a few fun activities during Ben's nap time.  First up, sugar cookies.  She is a sweet toothed kiddo, loved eating the dough.

Both Ben and Kharis loved being outside.

Another fun activity, Easter eggs!!!

To top it all off, an Easter egg hung.

Can't wait to see these two again in May!

Weekend in Nashville

A few weekends ago Chris and I went with my parents to Nashville to meet up with my sister and her family.  Our nephew Benny Boy was turning one the following week, so we were getting together for a birthday celebration.  I know this is overdue, but I just had to share a few pictures of Kharis and Ben.  They are two of my most favorite little people.

Kharis was frustrated during the gift opening process.

Aren't they cute together?

We went to a fabulous family style restaurant, Monell's.  SO much food, delicious.  We also got to see the wonderful Melanie.  Love her.

Ben and his cupcake, he loved it.

Love this face so much.

And this one, too!

Bearer of Rings

I took the time earlier to introduce you to our sweet little flower girl, now it is time to introduce you to our "bearer of rings".

This little guy has been a huge part of my life for over nine years now.  He made an unexpected entrance into my world and I am forever grateful.  I love him to pieces and as he grows up, it is amazing to see all the characteristics that shape his personality.  He is so smart, extremely sweet and kind, will still cuddle up beside me on the couch during his visits, always wants to make sugar cookies (we have had this tradition for at least 6 years now), and never forgets a thing.  He has a phone now and it totally brightens my day when I get the random "hey" text message or just a bunch of random letters in his little attempt to make me laugh.  Every day my prayers include a thank you to God for bringing Jack into my life, quickly followed by my thankfulness for his mom and dad.  They are one in a million and I can never thank them enough.

Jack will be walking my mom down the isle and handing over the rings when the time comes.  I might just tear up a little bit, he just does that to me.

Flower Girl

What is the most precious thing about a wedding that steals every one's attention away before the bride makes her appearance?  The flower girl of course.  I must admit we have the cutest, sweetest little flower girl in the whole wide world, my little niece Kharis Grace.  I decided to tell you a little about this lovely little girl today because this past Saturday was her birthday!  Two years ago on a snowy January evening I was heading to class when I got the call that Kharis Grace was born.  Since that time, whenever she is around she is the center of attention and doesn't disappoint.  She has tons of little tricks up that tiny sleeve, not to mention the fact that she's got Uncle Bobo wrapped around her finger.

I am so excited she gets to be a part of the big day.  She will be perfect.  The thing I am most looking forward to is seeing her dance.  She has some mad skills.  So, Happy Birthday to the best little flower girl in all the land.
