To me, the story of how we met was a perfect, random, unexpected surprise by Him. I was working in the high school class at church where I met Chris’s little sister. Erin and her friends were at my house pretty regularly and during a pumpkin carving event with my roommate Crystal, Erin brought up the idea of dating her brother. I dismissed it, but ran home and checked him out on facebook. The next day we “accidentally” sat by each other at church where he afterwards asked Erin who I was. He was relieved he wasn’t attracted to one of her high school friends when she told him I was a counselor in the high school class, not a member. Of course, Erin quickly shared this information.
I didn’t do anything about this for a while, just grinned when Erin would pester me about Chris and get butterflies in my stomach when he would occasionally be in Springfield. When Erin tore her ACL, she was over at my house one evening and I asked if there was anything I could do to perk her up. She didn’t mention anything so I threw out the suggestion of friend requesting Chris on facebook, you know, to make HER happy, all for her. She jumped on that and I sent the request.
We spent some time talking via facebook, then texting, then phone calls, and eventually our first date.
